Nicholas Knight (1975, United States) has shown extensively in the US and internationally, including solo exhibitions at Emily Harvey Foundation, New York; Rectangle, Brussels; 65GRAND, Chicago; Steven Wolf Fine Arts, San Francisco; B2 Project Space, Seoul; Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography, Toronto; Eugene Binder Gallery, Marfa Texas; and others. His work has been included in group exhibitions at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam; CNEAI, Paris; CUNY Graduate Center, New York; La Panaceé, Montpellier, France; The Drawing Center, New York; Teachers College, Columbia University, New York; Queens Museum, New York; and others. He graduated from Indiana University with degrees in Painting, Art History, and History and Philosophy of Science.
In 2015, Knight founded Command-X, a music, performance, publishing, and language project. They have self-released two vinyl albums, Instrumentalized (2016) and Incisions (2018), with contributions from Valentina Traianova and Sebastien Pluot in Paris. They have presented shows at CNEAI= in Paris, Cal Arts in Los Angeles, and Emily Harvey Foundation in New York, among other venues. Along the way, their lineup has expanded to include Stephanie Lin, Shay Guthrie, Richard Lowenburg, Keichelle Black, and Joi Bittle.
